Beer Style: Sour Brown
Sometimes things don’t work out as planned, this is especially true in the craft beer world when you’re getting a new brewery up and running. This was our Wee Heavy before fate and gremlins intervened. On the verge of going down the drain, a number of used barrels opened up, allowing us to take a leap of faith. Brettanomyces Lambicus, known for its cherry pie and sour character, was combined with some house funk resulting in something akin to an Oud Bruin style. This funky sour with a classic Brett nose plays well with the deep malt of the Wee base. This beer proves that sometimes being a little funky can help you out. Weeeeee! What a ride. J.V.
